GreenHouse is a prototype for a plant care / social media app that was developed for ARTDM172 (User Experience Design). The idea of GreenHouse started with a realization: it’s hard for plant lovers to find other plant lovers. With the decline of plant science education in schools and plant conservation efforts continuing to struggle, even the most diehard plant lovers are running out of designated places to really engage with the hobby. As one of these diehard plant lovers myself, I wanted to create the kind of app I’ve always wanted to see in the market– and here it is!
GreenHouse is everything a plant lover needs, no matter their skill level. On top of care reminders and optional notifications, users can join or create their own plant care forums and share care guides written by other, verified users. You even have the option to create custom “profiles” for each of your plants, and even give them names! If you’re a hobbyist, a student, or even someone with a little bit of interest in the hobby, I guarantee you’ll find something you love.
